When there is nothing left to burn you have to set yourself on fire

It's from the band "Stars" and it sounds like the voice of Christopher Lee. Anyone know what film it might be from?

Off to Croatia tomorrow, see you Anon

NASA numbnuts [Jul. 15th, 2007|10:19 pm]

I hear that NASA invented the non-stick pan, why on earth would they want to do this?

If someone is frying sausages in space I would have thought the last thing they wanted their sausages to do is not to stick.

They obviously didn't think this through.

Dreams can come true [Jul. 14th, 2007|09:31 am]
Genghis Khant

I had a vivid dream last night which I can remember most of...

The bands Good Charlotte, Maroon 5 and Orson were suspended in cages in a huge amphitheatre and starved for several days.  Each member was then force fed Angel Dust and led into a larger fighting cage.  Each band then proceeded to tear the living shit out of each other. The crowd went wild...

The only thing I can't remember  is who won. Well apart from music obviously.

I forgot to mention that today is the 40th anniversary of the death of one of my heros, Tommy Simpson.  I was friends with his younger sister. He was born in Haswell close to where I was born and not too many people from Haswell have won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year!
RIP Tommy

[music |Mogwai and more bloody mogwai]

To the beautiful Georgian quadrangle of Somerset House last night to watch Mogwai. It was almost two  years to the day since I saw Sigur Ros at the same venue perform one of the most astonishingly beautiful gigs I've ever been to . And I've seen a few.  I was stood next to Dido for most of that gig although I couldn't think of anything to say to her. Well nothing terribly nice. Mogwai were almost as good as Sigur Ros and I've been smiling all day.
Why not do yourself a favour and pick up a copy of Mr Beast?

And to the Globe tomorrow to see Othello, featuring the gorgeous Zoe Tapper (wonder what she got called at school?). This cultural move wasn't prompted by me watching rubbish like Doctor Who which featured the Globe in a recent episode. Er honest guv er, er...

Hey kids!

Yes you, before you all rush out and watch the "action hero" Bruce Willis in Die Hard 4.0 just remember this film stars the chickenshit who is too scared to come to London because of the risk of terrorist attacks.

As the kids say, how lame?.

Oh and I'd rather watch David Blunkett take a shit on my hand than listen to any of his shitty records.

Tour de France [Jul. 7th, 2007|09:31 am]

I've been in love with Le Tour since I saw the fantastic ride of Stephen Roche in the Pyrenees back in 1987. So last night it was a no brainer to wander down to Trafalgar Square after work to watch the opening ceremony.

Except it was the worst kind of dogshit imaginable.

The proceedeings began with a bloke from Leicester with a personality bypass giving us a history of the bike.  On came every type of bike imaginable. Apart from his wife.  We then had some gallic children talking shit, a load of crap dancers and endless replays of the routes the riders would be taking while in England.. By the time the teams were introduced no-one cared and I went to the pub early.

So if this was attempt to enthuse the masses to take up cycling, to embrace the best annual sporting event then it was a dismal failure and was clearly organised by Terry Fuckwitt. This was a real opportunity wasted. God help us when the Olympics come to town.

I'm off to Hyde Park watch the real race in a minute.

Special Weapons And No Tactics [Jun. 30th, 2007|05:18 pm]

So there have been two terrorist attacks in consecutive days.  Well I say "terrorist", from what I can gather the people behind this fill me with no terror whatsoever.  Crashing a car full of petrol in London and then fleeing and then crashing into Glasgow airport and harming no-one but managing to set yourself on fire... This leads me to conclude that these people are fuckwitts of the highest order. For God's sake Laurel & Hardy could have done a better job.

And then when you think of what these people are against, homosexuality, decadence, female emancipation. They sound like Tories and American rednecks to me. They can't even see this!!

Fucking give over man.
